Chasing The Sands

With nearing to 30 Singapore labeled post I made, it wasn't just once that I was thought of as an SG resident. No. But a best friend is residing there who is making me frequent this cosmopolitan city. One would also thought with that massive numbers of blog posts I had made about SG, I must have covered this not so big  country completely. Negative again. You know how this city is so "fast building". I mean my golly, one visit I saw a vacant land, then after 3 months I revisited again and holy cow! already was a giant structure standing mighty in that 3monthsago vacant land!!! That fast and mighty!!!

This year thu', there's one spot that I missed in SG. It's the Sands Sky Park.
Early on this year_ the scene was like. .

that was me in the middle with a tripod, running after the sunset Sky Park photo ops. .

at the ticketing with a bad news that the area was closed to the public cos of a private event happening there. .

That was my first attempt to go up to Sands Sky Park. That was in February of this 2011. .

. . and true to the spirit of reenactment. . after 6 months. . I was back to SG. . My second attempt. . .

. . again running here and there of Marina Bay Sands, see The Lion King was still up there :))

. . again at the Sands Sky Park ticketing office, we were told that there was no available slot at that time. . and I didn't have any other time to do this for the duration of that trip other than this very minute!! wtf!!

Best friend was asking me what the fuss about this Sands Sky Park?? haha. Nothing. It's just that it's one of the few latest  spots I haven't been at in Singapore. Bf, who ofcourse been there countless times, laughed at my eagerness cos she thought there was nothing so special about it. In terms of view to see, she said I had seen them all on top of different observation decks we've been around in this Lion City.

Not so keen anymore about the sky view..  but I want a photo of myself _ particularly here!!! at the infinity pool with all those bright lights in the background, haha!
Well, I'll get there. .just a matter of time:)

As of my visit a couple of months ago, these are the rates. I read the rates will go up to almost $100 for New Year's celebration at the Sands.

Louis Vuitton Island Maison

I went to visit Singapore again last week and as usual amazed by the constant flowing of new establishments/attractions around the city. Before last week, I was there last February of this year too and prior to that a year gap before it and was surprised to find Universal Studios , Singapore already in full swing and the Marina Bay Sands with its stunning Marina Sky Park in full glory. I mean. .well, they weren't there yet on my last visit. The newest attraction then was the Singapore Flyer.
Exactly, why (however small Singapore is) I don't get tired of frequenting this city_ it always has something new to offer.

This time around_ I found the Louis Vuitton Island Maison floating at the waterfront of Marina Bay Sands promenade. It had its grand opening less than a month ago prior to my visit and therefore one of the newest establishments to date. It's not the first LV store in the city thu', it is actually the fifth. Needless to say_ it wasn't there yet 8 months ago during my visit before this.

looks more stunning at night.

I only made up to here, intentionally, haha. I heard how it's prettier inside..but hey I didn't want to torture myself by tearing my eyes looking on those LVs. I was 100% sure not buying and will not in the next 4 years, so why enter when not purchasing? bitter! haha.

Marina Bay Sands

Marina Bay Sands, the newest star in Singapore (to date). While natural wonders like mountain, ocean, forest, volcano, etc.,always make me feel the presence of our Creator, it is on the same wavelength that exceptional architectural structure such as this, ascertained God's another awesome creations _ those geniuses who built this structure.

Oh pleezee, I am no authority to show you around this big fella but if you haven't been here, their official site could really show what they got _ see here.

I really, really, really would like to go up there at the Sands Sky Park which I think where the lo-oong infinity pool with the sky view of the city is located, and have a hot photo shoot under a dusky sky, period. For SG$20/head entrance fee that's no problem.

Can you spot me in the above photo? I'm the one in the center, armed with cam and tripod. Almost running cos the sun was about to hide at around past 7pm. Yes, unlike here in P.I., 7pm is already blackie dark, but there in SG, it's like our still with the sun up- 4pm sky here.

I was so rushing to go up, I almost didn't notice how fancy the lobby of this casino hotel. Almost, but I did see in passing.

So we went up, down , center. .until we found the ticket reception but was so disappointing cos the area where the infinity pool was located was closed to the public. There was a private event being held there. so. .

.

We just amused ourselves by doing some photo shoots outside The Shoppers in Marina Bay Sands, which technically have the same views as one would see on top of the Marina, only here they were at bay level but definitely still awesome!

Don't cha agree? Plus ofcourse you get to save SG$20 cos it's a free space. I even witnessed a pre-nuptial photo shoot being done here.

Maybe on my next visit, I would be able to get up there or maybe there will be a newer structure then worthier of my presence (huh? haha). But more than anything else, there's nothing worthier than seeing a best friend who is based in this city.
