Mandaue-Mactan Bridge

We passed this bridge on our way to Cebu City coming from Mactan. No, we didn't take any stop-over here. Obviously seen in my photos (up and below), I took them while mobile.

It is the newer Mandaue-Mactan Bridge which is otherwise named as Marcelo B. Fernan Bridge. Looking over to your right or left (depends which way you are heading to_Mactan or Cebu ), you could take a glimpse of the older bridge which is very much still at works and quite busier than the newer one.

Shanty houses afloat the sea.

Less than hour later, we were at Cebu City already. Up at the Crown Regency Towers to try the sky rides, I spotted the beautiful bridge.

Can you spot it? It's that long stretch line at the end before the ocean. haha. Sorry I didn't have proper lens to serve a better shot.
Anyway, one thing is sure _ if you arrived at Cebu via Mactan Airport and you would be heading to Cebu City, you would definitely pass thru this bridge.
One structure Cebu has the right to be quite proud of. I heard there's a park/shrine underneath the bridge which I would have wanted to take a look if only my marathon visit to Cebu was accommodating of extra spot.

Shangri-la Beach

The beach of Shangri-la , Mactan  wasn't as huge as the other beaches I've seen around the country. It's like you threw one swept glance and you saw the whole of it. It was a small cove but boy it was one gorgeous beach! Pardon my lack of expertise in photography_ I hardly captured  its real beauty. Adding insult to injury was the gloomy weather which somehow diminished the natural glow of the place. But if you've been there you know what I'm talking.

I love it that it was small and therefore suggestive of romance and seclusion.

Unlike overly large beaches, this one was calming and not tiring to beach around. When I seek relaxation, I seek privacy. Crowded beach tires me. Must be my age, haha.

 spa casita by the beach

beach bar

awesome beach furniture

Nevertheless, the beach also offered diversity of water fun activities. If you were a checked-in guest, you have the privilege of using complimentary water-fun facilities like kayak and other inflatables . It's a great place to hang around with your peers.

The sand was powdery and Boracay-like. What else can you ask for?

I also love the big rocks that accessorize the beauty of the beach.

I love Shangri-la beach.

Kung Hei Fat Choi 2011

In celebration  of Chinese New Year 2011 which is happening tomorrow (Feb.3.11), I chanced upon the 1st  Metro Manila Lion Dance Competition.

It was held at the back of MOA (San Miguel Bay) last Jan.29.11. I gathered that this has been  presented and maybe a would be yearly event by our Department of Tourism, It's nice that we could be able to watch Chinese lion dances if we couldn't make it to the crowded Chinese New Year day in  China town. I assumed most of the participants here are also the ones performing in the streets of China town.

It was still early and everything was still setting-up.

The heads_  waiting for their bodies. . .

Even beast needed to rehearse . . .
