Beach Coves

Before my memory of Fairways & Bluewaters, Boracay totally fails me, I thought I ought to share the rest of my experience there, right now or never:) It has been a month, let me refresh you from my latest post on this to the previous-est : around this resort, the most fun filled activity we had here , our room, our awesome land & sea transfer, our Halloween outside the resort. Then now we go....

... from where I was standing here ( please ignore the empty bottles of smbeers, definitely not mine, haha., it was 7 am, haller!!),  I saw...

these

One of the private beach coves of the resorts.

And this one too. Obviously, privacy is generously provided at this resort.

This also caught my eyes.

I lingered a little at my chosen platform and enjoyed more my bird's eye-viewing..

At the other side, I spotted the biggest beach cove of the resort.

It has a longer u-shaped white Boracay beach...

.. disrupted by a massive rock formation with a hole like a gate but no doubt another true beauty by itself.

I knew right then that that's the beach to check- out first, over the other beach coves in the resort. Besides at this point my younger daughter was pushing me to bring her to the infinity pool which is located there and if you're keen about it, you could jump here to see.

So there we went down the beach and that's me and younger daughter. Seems such a perfect beach, right?.. from a far!

Unfortunately, closer_ there's my older daughter tiptoeing over what-are-they? Massive seaweed garbage? I got confused, I was thinking : well atleast those are still organic and naturally sea produced. But still... you can't swim with them getting all over your body. That's so gross.

And then, came the real garbage. Plastic cups, candy/chips plastic wrappers. Such a shame for a high-end resort, don't you think so? Especially that the rest of Boracay : many other private beaches, stations 1,2,3 long beaches. are all so clean and white and pristine and oh so perfect Boracay!!!

Then, as if the management had e- read my thoughts..that quick, before I even thought of tweeting it ( haha, no worry, my tweeter account is dormant and never been used since created, haha ) a truck arrived with cleaning aides and started to clean-up.

So maybe, we were just too early for the beach. It was 7 am.

We chilled away from the water while the aides were busy cleaning up. In fairness, can you spot the perfect
sugary super white sand?

The villas behind us are spa cottages. I'll make a separate post on it, maybe later ;)

We also found the cave chapel nearby these spa cottages.

After seeing that we couldn't use the first beach for a swim..yet, we thought of checking the other one nearest which is located after another rock formation behind me (*see photo) at the end of the first beach. But actually changed our mind and decided to go out of the resort and go to the stations beaches.

The following morning, after breakfast, we went to check this other beach of the resort. This one is smaller. Same should have been perfect beach except that it lacked maintenance. The big rock is in full view here and quite an awesome photo backdrop.

Yet, the  privacy and "au naturel" state of this beach served its purpose for us to take beautiful photos for our private collections like the one above.

Banol Beach

Alas! After a series of floor/sand less (except for man made wood bridges and some rocks) islands visited, Banol Beach offered a  perfect white sand beach.

Felt so safe with the sand. Got something to confess here : I'm quite reluctant swimming on a deep floored lagoon or in a deep sea. I'm talking about gear less swimming (off diving gears) here. I'm always comfortable with sand in sight. Some floors my foot could touch when not on float.

The beach serves as the lunch spot of the whole Coron Island tour. It has nipa huts with tables for dining by the beach.

Our tour coordinator had packed some buffet lunch with fresh catches of the day seafood grilled by our boatmen at the shore. See our foods at my food blog later.

While the lunch was still being prepared, we took advantage of the pristine sea and swam a little on a highnoon not caring about burning our skin.

Not totally, there were shaded areas covered by huge rocks where you could enjoy swimming lessening the harmful sunburn.

The Coron islands' trademark_ stunning rock formations continued to amaze me at Banol Beach. As if the perfect  fine white sand and cystal blue water weren't enough to keep my jaw ajar.

There was a pinch in the heart everytime we had to live a paradise-y island such as Banol Beach, the only consolation was I knew I would be seeing another paradise. Coron seemingly has endless list of islands to offer.

The Tamarind Tree (part1)

While goggling for a place to stay in Padre Burgos, 2 resorts showed. One with fresh & green website with accessible booking office near my house. The other one with nothing but an email add, not even on line, no phone nos, too. I chose the one with easy booking access ofcourse.
Before that, I called my friend who was based in our (Quezon) home town,a 3 hours drive from Padre Burgos. I asked  if she could suggest a place to stay or had she ever visited Borawan Island? Her answers were negative and even warned me not to go there at all because of the risk of security hazards (there was a buzz regarding the town as NPA hiding place). Needless to say, I didn't believe her, but ofcourse when I made the reservation, I nailed the people from the resort to reaffirm our security, countless times.
I went to the bank and made a deposit of 50% of the room rate. The resort is not yet ready for credit card and only accepts over the counter payment.

T
The Resort
The resort is called The Tamarind Tree. The name appealed to me as very organic and fresh. The resort's website said it all and I was sold.

Rugged Road
It seems like this is not in the town proper but in a remote area. But don't be deceived by the short rugged road, it is very much in the "poblacion", actually this is the private road of the resort which is obviously not yet developed. On the other hand, the road compliments the rustic appeal of the resort.

The Entrance
Look how pretty!..and nice..and fresh! This is the entrance of the resort_on top of the hill, the rest of it unfurl down to the beach front. From here you could already enjoy a glimpse of the ocean with islets sitting on it.

Uphill Cottages
A number of these nipa hut cottages are located near the entrance of the resort which is uphill. The sizes vary_from small hut (for 2-4 persons) to a big one (10-12 guests).

Going Down
To get down to the beach front, there are two ways, one is to use these stone stairs, passing by bushes of greens and colorful flowers.

Drive Thru
Or run down on this drive thru which is actually for the cars. But if you're in a hurry, this one is a short cut!

Almost There
Close reach to the beach you would pass by some bamboo bridges and benches inviting to take a breath of freshness.

Sweet Lil' Bridge
This bridge will bring you to the largest of the only three cottages at the beachfront.

Beach Front Cottage
This is a fresh air cottage and so the rest of the cottages are. There's no cottage w/ ac and walls are scarce here.

Inside
The interior is like an exterior. It's open and has curtains hanging ready as cover- up when the need arises. Even the upper floor has big open windows.

A Bali Hut
This is another one of the three cottages in the beachfront, a medium size hut..

No Walls Too
..and carries the same fresh air open windows just like the rest.

At This Point
Maybe you are wondering how about mosquitoes at night? With this open windows architecture, I asked the same question..

Giant Kulambo
..and found the answer when the night came. They have a specially made mosqueto net (made to order from Laguna) as big as the hut where everyone still has a room for each own activity. Now, that's clever and how innovative!

Green Ground
This big open space is a multi function ground which is also a suggestive camping site. The resort has tents for rents or you can bring one.
