Big Waves

When I was a kid, big waves frightened me. I was so afraid of them I failed to learn how to swim, even though I hailed from a town nestled beside a gulf. I remember as a young girl, the sea was part of my playground. Lucky I was _ I grew up in a picturesque town as my playground. The whole yard of it, with rivers, mountains and hills to complete the scene. If you were like me who grew up in such a town with nature abound , you couldn't help but be a nature lover all the way thru' to adulthood and naturally passed it on to your own children.

My girls also have it on them_ the love for mother nature. The only difference is that they are not afraid of big waves. On the contrary, they enjoy swimming against the huge waves, and yes they learned how to swim.

Pamulaklakin Forest Trail

Subic is becoming a popular destination for adventure getaways. We're not talking about theme parks here but the authenticity of the places to experience are quite a number. You can see here , here, here, here and here , some of the most interesting adventures Subic is offering for the brave of hearts.

For the nature lovers, there are eco-tourism tours which offer jungle trail walks. One of these is the Pamulaklakin Forest Trail .

The trail gives you a real rainforest walk experience. A quick hike for two hours which also could be lesser, minus the photo stops and snack/lunch breaks.

An authentic Aeta native guides the trail. One of the highlights of the trail is a crash course in jungle survival which includes making a fire using bamboo sticks and using bamboo in place of cooking and eating utensils.

Abound by beautiful hues and nature of a rainforest, the trail was truly enjoyed by my girls' curious eyes.

What Was that ???

Last 3/ 27/2010, on our way to Subic, I was trigger happy taking photos of the roads (SCTex). From a close , dusty window of a moving vehicle

Not an everyday sight to me, (being from the south), I still got amazed by the reminiscent ashes of Mt. Pinatubo's biggest explosion decade ago.

Not far from this, some smokey thing happening caught my attention.

I was not sure what that was, I just kept on popping my cam while we were moving fast toward and away from the whirlwind thingy.

By this time, everyone was now all attention to this baby tornado ??? It was all our first time to see natural wind current like that. Kids and adults alike.

As fast as we passed by it, the wind collapsed down and gone. Like nothing happened. This, we witnessed thru our back window. We didn't stop, it was on a highway.

Then I went back popping my cam towards nicer view. Yet, couldn't get over it . . .What do you think it was???

The Tree Top Adventure

For those adventurous spirits , here's a challenging summer trip for you brave hearts! The Tree Top Adventure ! Also location is found in Subic, this is a favorite stop and swarms by trippers who have enough beach and sun and looking for anything all up there.

Going up to the entrance hall is already a challenge by itself and gives you a feeling of climbing a tree top ! Why not? The hall is constructed as high if not higher than those trees being used for the activities.

Restricted for afraid-of-heights people, all activities here are being done up, on tree tops.

This multi-purpose hall is where you can view people braver than you, whose fears surrendered in exchange by enormous thrills compensated by the tree tops experience.

Safety first ! Harness and hard hats are available for protection.

Behold and keep your eyes wide open ! Try to spot people who are doing the stunts. Try to spot us ! I know it's hard because the greens camouflaged the people.

We certainly had fun !!!

The kids couldn't resist buying some souvenir trinkets downstairs. That was a lot of fun ! ! !
