Silangang Nayon

I watched that uncanny flying/zipping plane crossing back and forth above the sea right infront of me.

For some minutes I watched it with blank stares.. you know like when you're too tired and your eyes mindlessly work independently off the brain, without analyzing the image. .it was like that. Then my eyes went back to work with my brain. .

. . then it dawned on me_ it was the "flying waiter" I've seen in other blogs. I didn't recognize it at first cos it wasn't colorfully dressed-up as I've seen it in blog photos. Plus ofcourse I was kindah space out that afternoon when we made a lunch stop there at Silangang Nayon on our way back to Manila.

The zipping plane transports the foods from the resort's main kitchen, to serve those guests who opted to dine in the area above the sea. Otherwise, you could imagine how tedious it would be if the waiters would manually serve the foods. They have to walk miles away, walk through the stilts bearing trays of food and drinks.

At first, we also wanted to dine in the stilts area. It was so scenic, who wouldn't have wanted to dine in the sea? Not us. .

. .but the wind was blowing stronger by the minute, then the rain fell. So we decided to occupy one of the landed huts instead.

It has a mini zoo but nothing so much to see. .

. .this iguana amused my girls thu'.

.  .and the free range birds ( don't know what kind )? walking happily in the grounds near the entrance of the resort.

Silangang Nayon is in Pagbilao Quezon. It's a park and dine place. A breather for long drive trips in Quezon and Bicol. I first had a glimpse of it when we went to Pueblo Por La Playa which nestles almost right beside it
ps: foods at My 3rd & 7th Sense.

The Lil' Turtle

It takes courage to come out..

It takes strength to have doubt..

It takes courage to lean on..

It takes strength to fit in..

Close Encounter, Zoobic Safari

*yeeey! I survived the Tiger Safari! I'm still alive!

My heart hadn't fully slowed down from the heart pounding action in Tiger Safari ( click here to see Tiger Safari ), when it occurred to me that I hadn't enough yet of the wild cats. We were moved on to the Close Encounter.

The place where the tigers were supposed to be hanging out to rest from the hunting works at Tiger Safari.

.. But the pens were not their natural habitat. They were too little-a- place for these wild beautiful beasts..

So I could feel their agitation against their small pens. I only saw one tiger sleeping, the rest of them were walking back and forth in countless times that looked quite intimidating and scary.

I did not dare to look them straight, afraid that I might trigger something off their wilderness and caused a lifetime damage in my peaceful mom's life.

Take note that here at Close Encounter, the tigers were physically real close to the guests, 1-2 feet away. I tiptoed the narrow stinky corridor as if there were nails on the floor. The place was really stinky of the urine odor of the animals. I never at once removed my hanky off my nose all through the course of this close encounter. Remember that tigers are territorial and that explains the markings of their urine odors.

Everytime I saw a lighted pair of eyes, fear pushed me to the wall, which is by the way_ only two feet away from the fangs of the owner of the eyes.

Another factor which made me stick to the wall was the fear of getting showered by the tiger's urine which the guide said the odor would linger up to a week and no amount of shower and bath would do any help. that would be real disaster then !

But most of all, the real fear factor was when the beast took out its tongue, kept it dangling on the air with saliva dripping and looked at me as if he was nothing but ready to take a feast the whole of me! whaaah!!!!

At the end of it all, tiger is a real beauty. Like a stuff toy cat I want to bring home and put at the head of my comfy bed. :D

Albay Park & Wildlife

Just right beside the entrance gate of Lingnon Hill Nature Park is another park_ the Albay Park and Wildlife. A zoo for animal lovers. My youngest Kyla will surely get hype when she see this place. She truly hearts animals and a zoo is her favorite place to visit.

Fresh, clean and green_ what else could an animal asks for?..

..but be not in a cage ( however nice the environment is..)..

... but my dear big snake, remember you are in a zoo. At least it's very well maintained.. fair enough?

Little monkey seems not complaining, albeit the cage not making him so happy.. it's a lot comfortable though, than the cages I saw in Manila Zoo.

Extensive bird species are on the show in this zoo ( see more of the birds in the next post).

Ostrich got bigger space

Camel happy with his home

A goat with foreign blood, he doesn't look like any of our native goats

This one_ help me to recognize, looks like a coati to me, what d'ya think?

Ducks enjoy a swim

Reptiles sleeping

It is after all a fauna and flora paradise

- Family park for picnics and playground for the kids

Another park inside the big park

All of those for a very minimal entrance fee! Only at Legazpi City, Albay.

Will be back next summer vacation with my kids!
